Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Master Apothecaries gain no proficiency with any weapon or armor.

Spells per Day/Spell Known: At every level except first and fifth, a Master Apothecary gains new spells per day (and spells known, if applicable) as if she had also gained a level in one spellcasting class to which she had already belonged before adding the prestige class level. She does not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained. If she had more than one spellcasting class, she must decide to which class to add each Master Apothecary level for the purposes of determining spells per day, spells known, and overall caster level.

Poison Use (Ex): At first level and higher, a Master Apothecary never risks accidentally poisoning herself when dealing with poisons.

Magical Artisan (Ex): At first level, a Master Apothecary gains Magical Artisan (Brew Potion) as a bonus feat. This feat reduces the cost and XP for making potions by 25%.

Improved Alchemist (Ex): At second level, a Master Apothecary improves her alchemical skill. When using the Craft skill to create an alchemical item or a poison, she crafts at a phenomenal speed, such that she can craft = Check Result x Check DC x 5 silver pieces per week.

Brew Potion (Ex): A Master Apothecary gains a unique insight into the workings of magical potions through her study. Her effectiveness and efficiency with potions becomes renown. As she gains levels, she refines and improves the use of her Brew Potion feat. At third level a Master Apothecary can brew two potions in one day instead of one. This number increases by one at sixth level and again at ninth level. At fourth level a Master Apothecary can stretch the limits of the brew potion feat and place a 4th level spell into a potion. This ability increases as indicated on the table above until a Master Apothecary can place a 6th level spell into a potion at 10th level. This ability only allows an increased level spell to be made into a potion; the spell must still meet all other requirements for being made into a potion.

Extend Potion (Ex): At third level, any potion a Master Apothecary drinks that she made herself, with a duration other than instantaneous, has its duration doubled, as if by the Extend Spell feat.

Alchemical Artisan (Ex): At fifth level, a Master Apothecary improves her alchemical skill further. When using the Craft skill to create an alchemical item or a poison, she crafts at a phenomenal speed, such that she can craft = Check Result x Check DC in gold pieces per week.

Immunity to Poisons (Ex): At fifth level, a Master Apothecary’s work with alchemical substances and poisons has forced so many antitoxins and remedies into her body that she becomes immune to poisons of any kind.

Brew Any Potion (Su): At sixth level a Master Apothecary’s studies has reached the point where she discovers how to brew previously unknown potions. By succeeding on a Use Magic Device Check, she can place a spell that is not on her spell list, into a potion she brews. The check DC for this use is 20 + Minimal Caster Level required to cast the spell from that list. If the check fails, the materials are not ruined, but one use of the Master Apothecary’s Brew Potion is used up for the day.

Master Alchemist (Ex): At eighth level, a Master Apothecary improves her alchemical skill further. When using the Craft skill to create an alchemical item or a poison, she crafts at a phenomenal speed, such that she can craft = Check Result x Check DC in gold pieces per day.

Healing Potion (Su): At eighth level, whenever a Master Apothecary drinks a potion that she made herself, she has the option of forgoing its normal benefit to instead receive the benefit of a spell of the healing subschool with a spell level equal to or lower than the level of the spell in the potion. The spell chosen must be one that could be made into a potion.

Double Potion (Ex): At tenth level a Master Apothecary has become the master of her art. She can brew the effects of two spells into a single potion. Doing so counts as two uses of Brew Potion for that day. If at least one spell allows a saving throw, both effects use the save DC of the highest level spell in the potion. There is only one saving throw allowed, and a spell that does not normally allow a saving throw is negated if the save succeeds. Willingly drinking the potion causes one to voluntarily fail the save, as normal.
